Carolina Fitness Challenge

Carolina Fitness Challenge
Event 1 (10a): 
3m To Find 1RM Clean and Jerk
*285*
Warmed up to 255 and then had to wait in line for 40 minutes before being able to execute. Had cooled down and was afraid to open heavier than 260. Opened at 260 and hit. Moved to 270 and came forward on the clean a little but the jerk felt fine. Decided to go to 285 and hit both the clean and the jerk easily. Should have opened heavier and ended at 300-305. Finished 28th in this event due to the sinclair scoring method. 


Event 2 (11:45a):
12m amrap of:
20 Squats with 45# Place
20m Lunges with Plate Overhead
20 Pushups with one hand on plate and then moving to other side (Plyo is what they called it but it wasn't a plyo pushup). 
I finished with 4 + 20 Squats and 1/2 trip of Lunges. 18th in this event. 
*Pushups got me here and the lunges weren't easy for me either. 


They cut the field to 50 and I was 18th going into the 3rd event in which they would cut the field to 10 following the 3rd event. 


Event 3 (330p)
21-15-9
-Heavy WB (30) to 10'
-DL (275)
-Burpees
As soon as 21-15-9 is finished, 2m to do max t2b
10m cap on 21-15-9 WOD. 
*Time on triplet was 8:51(16th Overall) and 35 T2B (2nd Overall)
**I gamed this wrong which was frustrating, I knew I had to do well to make up some ground but there had only been 5 out of the 30 that had gone before me to complete the triplet. I was the 2nd to last heat and I thought that if I was in the lead going into my last set of burpees I would slow down and catch my breath so I could crush the T2B. I was banking on some of the smaller athletes that were in the final heat not finishing the WOD. I could have finished the triplet about 20 seconds faster but chose to rest. I ended up losing 6 places in those 20 seconds to the last heat folks. They all finished. I missed the final wod by 2 points and finished in 11th. 


This was pretty frustrating, I know what you are going to say and I am with you 100%. This doesn't mean shit and last we checked, no free passes to the games for the winner of the challenge. I just hate losing. Especially to some of the guys that beat me. 


One thing that was surprising is how heavy the deadlifts felt. I feel like this has grown to be a goat of mine over the past 6-9 months. I am also going to add in more overhead lunges and pushups into my warm-ups so I can get better at them. 


I was pretty sore this morning and have been stretching today. Should be able to hit the double tomorrow.
